Is there a way to add a field for the check number in the gift records?

I somehow never saw your response to this question until today. I've been using a separate excel spreadsheet to record the check numbers and dates. I like to include them on the receipts to make it easy for the donors to track donations for tax verification purpose. We're a small organization, so using the spreadsheet isn't a big deal.
