Re: S/PEO Status Field
Great question, and thanks for asking (and sorry to be slow responding ... I didn't see your post until today). The SPEO concept comes from the book "Coaching Your Champions" by Eric Foley (with some modification by me) and from the Mission Increase Foundation. The basic idea is that we need to help...

Re: Facebook Field?
Thanks for the kind words, and welcome to DM 6. The Facebook field is indeed fully functional. Here, you just put the person's Facebook user name. For example, my FB user name is john.muehleisen You can easily find someone's user name by navigating to their FB page, and it appears right after https:...

Re: DM skipped a donation
Hi Eric, Thanks for your question, and sorry to be slow in answering you. The forum didn't notify me that there was a message pending and I just stumbled on it today. What you are seeing is actually by design and the program is doing it intentionally. Here's the logic and the background to this. Man...

Re: "Map" function does not capture entire Canadian postal c
Thanks for the bug report.
Probably the space in the postal code is the problem. I'll put this on my "bugs to fix" list.
thanks again.

Re: MailChimp Syncing
That is definately what I'll be doing. The catch here is that if someone drops an email address, then manually adds a new one on mail chimp, it will not create a unique mail address id, nor will it create a partner link id. That's what has me stuck (at this point) in my thinking on this. I'm sure th...

Re: DM5 > DM6 Email glitch
We may have discussed this, Dave. I can't remember. But, try this. Make a backup of your data. Then use Tools -> Refresh E-Mail Addresses See if that helps. Now, if you have some addresses with a comma between them, and you want to change it to a semi-colon, let me know and I'll but a menu item in t...

Re: Multiple donors with same donor ID
Boy, that is a tough one for sure. For matching contributions, the program is assuming that there is one, and only one donor for a particular donor id number. This situation is not uncommon, though. In our organization we have a similar thing (where a donor gives to an endowment, and then the endowm...

Re: MailChimp Syncing
The current version of DM (6.19) will let you do a fresh export to a csv file which you can then import back into MailChimp. MailChimp will sync things on its end. But, what I don't have yet is the MailChimp -> DM sync (where DM updates its information based on drops / changes in MailChimp). That's ...

Re: 4th option for importing existing data at Welcome
Good suggestion.
Actually, though, you don't need to re-enter any of the information.
Just skip through that "who are you" screen to get to the main menu.
Then when you do the restore (from a backup or a pack and go) it will fill in that data for you from the backup.

Re: Using Dropbox with two computers
There are a couple of ways to do this ... each with its own advantages and disadvantages. One way is to simply move your entire Donor Manager installation from c:\donor6 to the DropBox folder. You'll need to adjust your "shortcuts" to point to this new location. And the first time you do a live upda...

Re: Error starting after install
Sorry to hear that you have run into problems here. A few questions: What folder did you install into. If /program files then that might be the problem. Try reinstalling into c:\donor6 If that is not the case, then do a reboot and see if the problem continues. If so, then perhaps we can do a screen ...

Re: Reports suddenly too big for page
This is caused by a combination of Windows screen magnification settings and the advanced report preview.
To turn off the advanced preview, be sure you are on the latest version of DM.
Then go to Settings ->Report printing options -> Use advanced report previewer -> No
That should help.
